Caribou Under Silver Moon (SOLD)296 viewsThis painting came from thinking obut the Debert campsite, which is said to be between ten and twelve thousand years old. This land was said to be savannah land, very lush, similar to Africa, filled with animals of all descriptions. Those animals supported this camp which was said to be sixty square acres. There are three caribou grazing on this plain. The silver moon represents the fact that in ten thousand years, there have been one hundred and thirty thousand moons.

Five Red Feathers240 viewsThis painting is a man with red ochre on this face and feathers. I used my own hand-prints for his hands. All the coloured dots symbolize spirits in the air. This piece reminded of a King Crimson album cover I once saw.

Four Humpback Whales484 viewsThis drum is unique in that it's base is made from an eight-hundred year old cedar tree from New Brunswick. It is decorated with four humpback whales swimming around a Mi'k maq eight-point star. This drum has a superb voice and is able to make many different sounds. The tree sap is coming out of the wood and colouring the moose skin, this process will continue with time. The tree is part of the natural painting process.

Red Clay Mask and Gold Stars (SOLD)300 viewsWhen I think of someone who has crossed over, a friend of mine or an aquaitance, I will do a portrait of them. It's never a realistic portrait. It's a reminder of them, an how I felt about them. I give the mask eyes to make it come alive. In that way, the memory comes alive.

Red Earth (SOLD)338 viewsRed ochre is usen in many of my newer works. It is a direct link to my ancestors who used it in ceremonies. Like my DNA, it is a true link to them. This world is covered with sunbeams of gold and just before the sun goes down, the spirits make their appearance, but you have to be vigilante to see this phenomenon.
