Yellow_Moon_Over_Village.JPG
Yellow Moon Over Village (SOLD)381 viewsYellow Moon Over Village is a Mi'kmaq "Starry, Starry Night". I remember as a child, going to midnight mass and looking for the star o Bethlehem. Now I look at the sky the way a traditionalist sees it. As I research the Mi'kmaq view of the stars, these stars were the markers by which the creator would send you to this world, and when you cross over, you follow the very same stars to go back home to the Creator.

Caribou_Under_Silver_Moon.JPG
Caribou Under Silver Moon (SOLD)298 viewsThis painting came from thinking obut the Debert campsite, which is said to be between ten and twelve thousand years old. This land was said to be savannah land, very lush, similar to Africa, filled with animals of all descriptions. Those animals supported this camp which was said to be sixty square acres. There are three caribou grazing on this plain. The silver moon represents the fact that in ten thousand years, there have been one hundred and thirty thousand moons.
